Where shall we put the ISSE?
· Summer of 2001:
The ISSE moved again, to what is hoped to be a more permanent resting place. This time the move was slightly more dramatic, all the way to the other side of the Kennedylaan. The new premises have much that the previous ones could not offer, with more classrooms, better sports facilities and a larger library. It only remains to be seen: where shall we put the ISSE next?
· Summer of 1999:
Rumours were already flying before the Class of '99 graduated about the problems the ISSE was having in accommodating the growing numbers of students. It very quickly became clear that the new building (on the Henegouwenlaan) to which the ISSE had moved only two years previously was too small. The search was on for another new site.
· Summer of 1997:
Many of us remember with light-hearted mockery the old ISSE building on the Jerusalemlaan. These premises died a slow and painful death as the school's size expanded and the "cardboard box" - as is was fondly known - could no longer feasibly be maintained. The students left, the bulldozers arrived, and the ISSE made way for a grassy wetland. The plans to build retirement bungalows never seemed to come to much, and nature has retained a firm hold on the patch of land ever since.
