· Teachers who
stayed:
The ISSE is known for
attracting a whole variety of teaching
staff. Over the years it also became
clear that there were those who saw the
ISSE as a stopover on the route to bigger
and better things, and those who stuck
around for the long haul. Perhaps
attracted by the small-scale nature of
the school, and the vibrant yet friendly
community, many put on hold (sometimes
permanently) any aspirations to move on
or up in the world. Among these long-termers
are:
- Mrs
Anderson
- Dorus
Neutkens
- Mrs
Everid
- Mr
van Daal
- Mrs
de Rijk
- Mrs
Fell
- Mr
Hearn
- Mrs
Gruintjes
- Mrs
Timmers
- Mr
Zey
- Mrs
Klerks
- Mr
Mitchell

The ones that didn't quite make it:
In the summer of 2001,
after many, many years of loyal service
to the ISSE community, Mrs Forest
finally chose to move on. The
International School in Rotterdam made
her an offer that she could not refuse,
and so no more will she be found teaching
maths, editing yearbooks, or driving her
mini around at the ISSE.
This summer, 2002, saw the departure of
two more familiar faces from the ISSE
teaching staff. Mr Allan,
who had been with the school for 10
years, has chosen to take up a position
at the International school in Amsterdam.
Mrs
Christensen, who was our
year mentor in IB, is also moving to
sunnier pastures. She has (very wisely)
accepted a position to teach in the
Bahamas.
